Sundays are a day we use to meal prep for the week to come. These days usually consist of my wife Maddy cooking up a storm while I watch football and play with our son, Will. However, this Sunday was different.
I decided to go out on a limb and cook for the first time in a long time. And boy did I surprise myself! What came to fruition was a batch of tasty turkey burgers that I am proud enough to brag is better than any restaurant turkey burger I have had. And believe me, I’ve had quite a number in my lifetime!
Bold statement, but try them for yourself...
Ingredients
2/3 cup of bread crumbs
1 egg (organic)
2 lbs ground turkey (organic) (nature’s pasture)
1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil (organic) (franks 457)
Directions
Crack and beat egg in small bowl
Place ground turkey in large mixing bowl
Pour beaten egg on ground turkey and mix it in
Add salt and pepper over top of the meat
Add onion over top the meat
Add 1/3 cup of breadcrumbs over top the meat
Use hands or fork to mix all ingredients
Once breadcrumbs are evenly mix pour the other 1/3 cup of breadcrumbs overtop the meat and mix
Preheat a large pan on low heat with olive oil
Scoop out meat using spoon and roll into a patty no more then one inch in thickness
Place patty on pan and repeat until pan is full
Keep patty on same side until 1/3 cooked through then flip. Cook on other side until finished
